Burette for titration, analysis and precise acid-base determinations, particularly suitable for acetic acid analysis.

SKU: 2017 Category:

The burette is a precise aid for titration, analysis and acid-base determinations. It enables controlled, fine addition of liquids and is particularly important when the consumption of a standard solution is to be read off accurately.

The burette is also suitable as a spare part or addition for the Acetic Acid Analysis Set.

Properties and benefits

  • precise dosing for titrations and analysis work
  • suitable for determining the acetic acid content
  • controlled addition of standard solutions up to the colour change
  • liquid consumption can be read off directly
  • practical as a spare part or addition to existing analysis sets
  • suitable for vinegar production, hobby laboratory work and simple laboratory practice

Matching accessories

For acetic acid analysis, the burette is typically used together with sodium hydroxide solution 1N, phenolphthalein solution, a volumetric pipette and an Erlenmeyer flask.

Application

During titration, the standard solution is slowly added from the burette to the sample until the end point is reached. Just before the end point, dosing should be done dropwise so that consumption can be determined as accurately as possible.

After use, the burette should be rinsed carefully so that no residues of alkalis, acids or indicator solutions influence later measurements.
