The Vinegar Hydrometer is an aerometer for the simple determination of the acetic acid content. It is suitable for rapid measurement and inspection tasks around vinegar, when the limits of density measurement are taken into account.

Important properties

Measuring range: 0 to 75 % acetic acid
Measuring principle: aerometer via density determination
Suitable for: simple, ideally clear vinegar samples
Not ideal for: complex fermented vinegars with sugar, turbidity, extract or residual alcohol

Important note on measurement

The Vinegar Hydrometer measures via the density of the liquid. Dissolved substances such as sugar, extract, sediment or residual alcohol can distort the result. For a precise determination of the acetic acid content, the Acetic Acid Analysis Set is more suitable.

Recommended accessories

For a clean measurement, the 250 ml measuring cylinder is recommended. The hydrometer must be able to float freely and must touch neither the bottom nor the wall.
