Ethanol Refractometer 0–80 %vol is a compact measuring instrument for the rapid checking of ethanol and pure alcohol-water mixtures. It needs only a small sample quantity and indicates the alcohol content within a measuring range of 0 to 80 %vol.
The refractometer is also suitable as a spare part or addition to the Alcohol Analysis Set. It can also be used in spirit distillation when clear distillates or pure alcohol samples need to be checked quickly.

Use and scope
The Ethanol Refractometer measures via the refractive index. It is therefore particularly suitable for matching, clear ethanol samples. Sugar, extract substances, acids or other dissolved substances can distort the result.
For complex samples such as mash, liqueur, beer, wine or vinegar, the Alcohol Analysis Set is the better choice, because there a distillation is carried out before the measurement. For clear distillates, an alcoholmeter can alternatively be used.
Matching accessories
For simple alcohol measurements, the refractometer pairs well with the Alcohol Measuring Set. For sugar content before fermentation, the Oechsle hydrometer is intended instead.
Note
The prism should be cleaned carefully after each measurement so that no residues influence the next sample.
